(Lolium perenne)
ABERAVON ![]()
The first High-Sugar-Grass to be listed by the
Bundessortenamt. High concentrations of water
soluble carbohydrates produce increased milk
yields and live weight gain through improved digestibility.
Compared to other diploid varieties
Aberavon produces an outstanding first cut yield
and has a good rust resistance.
ABERCHOICE NEW
Aberchoice is a dilpoid perennial ryegrass in the
late maturity group (Ear Emergence 8). The percentage
of water-soluble carbohydrates is higher than in the
comparable Hight-Sugar-Grass, Aberavon.
AROLUS
A very early variety with high first cut yields and
outstanding sward density and rust resistance. It
has proven its winter hardiness across marginal
perennial ryegrass regions.
ARTESIA
Artesia is the earliest and most persistent tetraploid
variety on the perennial ryegrass list. Good
rust and snow mould resistance enable it to grow
in unfavourable areas. Good early spring growth
and high yields ensure Artesia a place in any forage
mixture.
IVANA
A very early variety that combines excellent early
spring growth and sward density. Extremely good
winter hardiness has been proven over 6 years in
trials at high altitude. Ivana can be used in grazing
and conservation mixtures in regions where other
varieties would fail.
MERCEDES NEW
Mercedes combines profitability with excellent
health and resilience. This makes Mercedes an attractive
and variable component for many mixtures, providing
the cultivator with high quality, healthy feed.
Its excellent regeneration ability and suitability
for peat land in particular are further properties
which make Mercedes valuable.
SERAFINA NEW
Serafina is an income-stable expansion of the late
maturity group (7) of the product line, and achieved
an above-average dry matter yield in all three years of
evaluation. The pronounced first cut enhancement,
combined with low risk, excellent health and high winter
hardiness (Grade: 4 – low to average) makes Serafina the
perfect partner for mid-late and late mixtures, which can
be used for fodder throughout the year.
WEIGRA
This early-intermediate type was especially selected
for severe winters in cold regions of the Alpine
foothills and Bavarian forest. It has gained a reputation
for use in regions where perennial ryegrasses
would not normally thrive.
